I have known that I wanted to be a teacher since my junior high years. However, I didn't realize that elementary-age children were the age group God had in store for me until my sophomore year of college! I graduated from Shawnee State University in May of 2018, with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I took a year to substitute teach in our area schools, then worked with CAO Head Start for five years before finding my home here at Temple Tots Preschool! As a child, my parents taught me valuable information through song and play, and that has inspired me to use music and play as a way of teaching in the classroom! I do everything I can to keep children engaged in their learning! I also believe that children develop and progress at different speeds, and it is our job as parents and teachers to meet them where they are. Therefore, I assess my students multiple times throughout the year to see their progress, then use that information as a way to help better prepare them for Kindergarten. Here at Temple Tots Preschool, we strive to prepare our students for their future in many ways - academically, emotionally, and spiritually. I love that I get to pour into our students' lives on a daily basis. "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
